aTALBOT ISLAND CAMPOUT 2005 |
---|
We started at the Southside Christian Church 7:45 Saturday morning and began talking about about what lay ahead and what would happen when we arrived at our appointed destination. On our way down the road we spotted a small but good looking dinner and ate breakfast. We made our way to the camp site after stopping at the rangers office. We would work instead of paying a fee for camping. We made our way to the camp site and started pitching our tents. The adults played cards and the boys played organized catch. Our work was cleaning up the beach were all the fisherman go. On our way we saw a ghost crab and we took a picture and moved on. We saw the ruins of an old pier that had fallen down. Mason found a buoy and we headed back to our campsite. We made a fire, and took more pictures. We ate "MRE'S" (meals ready to eat - just like the troops in Iraq) provided by Mr. Balasso. Then we played "manhunt" and poped some popcorn and it was time for lights out. We got up early and we put down our tents and we packed our stuff and got ready to head back to the church. But before our journey was over we had one last stop the troop didn't know about. The trailer had to be put back at the republican party headqueters and had to be placed in the back where there was a fenced in area. After spending five minutes trying to open the lock and getting a little help from my father we got the fence door open and placed the trailer inside and made sure it was properly tightened; then we locked the fence up and headed home. |
